Checkers gameplay
The online Checkers game is available in different variations, with the American 8x8 Checkers being the most popular of these board games. Other variations include the Turkish and the Russian draughts, played on 8x8 boards. The International draughts are, however, played on 10x10 checkerboards. The 12x12 variations exist too and are played in select countries.
The steps involved in playing Checkers are as follows:
- Arrange 12 disc pieces in the black boxes placed the closest to you.
- Move the discs turn by turn diagonally on the diagonal dark boxes only.
- If you are making a non-capturing move, go forward with only one box.
- Capture one piece at a time with gradual diagonal advancement.
- Successive jumps made by a single disc piece allow the capture of multiple opponent disc pieces.
- Move any of the disc pieces the furthest from its initial position into the opponent arrangement to make it the king and win the game.

Checkers is an interesting browser game requiring extensive strategy creation. While the basic versions of this board game suit the cognitive shaping of children, an adult mind may find the game curiously intense.
